“Go Green with the Drums for Peace, Smile to the World!”
Under the high patronage of the First Lady in Lebanon, Mrs. Wafaa Sleiman
PRESENTATION Several schools from different regions in Lebanon will join this peace-loving gathering to support the ecology. Selected by the school, SLAMMERS will recite their SLAMS and sing their songs under the themes of PEACE and the ENVIRONMENT. On the other hand, groups of students (around 1000), educators and parents combined, will heartily beat different rhymes on white and green DRUMS, a symbol of PEACE and of the ENVIRONMENT. A number of refined guests of honor will mark their presence at t he concert. Towards the end of the ceremony, a student will offer the First Lady of Lebanon and some guests of honor, a white and green DRUM holding a message of PEACE FOR A GREEN LEBANON. Poems and letters composed by students will be stuck on the interior side of the DRUM. At the same time, hundred students will give their support to this cause by beating the green drums for peace in their schools, all over Lebanon. (around 50 000 students) The objective of this event is to provide our youth the possibility to express their ideas and to act in favor of the environment. Let us guide them to successfully complete their mission. Their message is going to reach our leaders! This is an international action initiated by the International House of Poetry, Arthur Haulot - Youth-Poetry section.
